There's nothing more relaxing than a nice soak in a warm bathtub, especially when you've got lovely bath salts to help you unwind. Their soothing scents make your cares wash away, and the therapeutic actions of the salts ease tired muscles!
Here we give you a few easy-peasy recipes for some fab bath salts - perfect for yourself, or to make as a prezzie for someone special who needs a treat!
Basic But Pretty Bath Salts You will need: 3 cups (total) of a few different types of salts (from table salt to sea salt). Dried flowers or flower petals. Essential oil such as rose, lavender etc
To make: Combine the different salts. Using different types is so that they range in size from a fine texture to coarse. The different textures make this recipe look very glam! Sprinkle in some flower petals for colour. They will also float in the water making the bath look pretty! Add a few drops of essential oil, stirring to test for 'smell strength'. Allow to dry thoroughly, then store in pretty jars ready for gift-giving! Try these other Bath Salt recipes: |
Fizzy Roses A fizzy treat that's totally pretty too! You will need: 1 cup baking soda 3/4 cup citric acid 3 Tblsp cornstarch 1/2 cup sea salt A handful of lightly crushed dried rose petals
To make: Combine all of the above ingredients, mix well and allow to dry thoroughly. It's very important to keep ingredients totally dry or the 'fizzy' bit will start without you! Store in jars. |
Relaxing Bath Salts

For a totally glam bath-time! You will need: 2 cups sea salt 1 cup table salt 2 Tblsp glitter A few drops of essential oil 1/4 cup of baby shampoo
To make:
Combine the salts, glitter and oil and stir until the texture is smooth. Drizzle with the baby shampoo and then spread onto a greaseproof paper covered biscuit tray until you have an even layer. Allow to thoroughly dry out. This could take up to an entire day.
